Draft letter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell written in Prince Albert's hand. Confirming receipt of his previous letter (see VIC/MAIN/C/56/53) and agreeing with his suggestions for the appointment of Mr Wilson and advance of Mr Stanley to the House of Lords. She writes that before making a decision on Lord Granville she would like to consider further the role of the Master of the Buckhounds, especially in relation to a potential call for further reductions in the Royal Household.
