A collection of files on various subjects created by Prince Albert (1819-61) covering the period of 1840-1860.

Included are a number of files created by Prince Albert relating to a variety of topics, such as Coastal Defences, the Abolition of Duelling, the Precedence of Prince George the Duke of Cambridge 1819-1904, the controversial appointment of Dr Hampden as the Bishop of Hereford, and the marriage of Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar (1823-1902).

In addition to these files is a volume containing manuscript copies of many of Prince Albert’s public speeches, including those given at a meeting of the Society for the Abolition of Slavery, the Royal Literary Fund, the Servant’s Benevolent Society and the Royal Agricultural Society, among others.
