Letter from the Prince Consort to Lord John Russell regarding Sir J. Hudson's treatment of issue relating to the fate of Sicily and Naples, in response to Count Cavour's policy. The Prince suggests that he should be reminded of his duty to his own country and states that the annexation of Sicily to Sardinia is to be carried out in order to prevent a split in the Liberal Party of Sardinia.
