Letter from the Bishop of Oxford to George Anson
7 Jan 1848Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (4 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/C/55/65
The Bishop of Oxford expresses his feelings on the 'injust imputations' against himself after his letter to Dr Hampden. He encloses an anonymous letter (not present) as an example of the individuals who give him credit for his actions. He discusses whether he should publicly answer these 'imputations' and asks George Anson for advice on a letter he has drafted for The Times.
