Letter from Sir Robert Peel to Prince Albert on his correspondence with Lord Heytesbury regarding Colonel Bowles (see VIC/MAIN/C/60/57-58). He reports that Heytesbury is in favour of Bowles and also states that he has interviewed his brother, Admiral Bowles, who confirmed many of his positive qualities for the role.
