Letter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell expressing approval of the appointment of Mr Buchanan as Sir Henry Wynn's successor at Copenhagen, and for Mr Murray as Minister of Switzerland. The Queen also mentions that Lord Cowley reported that the Emperor Napolean spoke with Lady Cowley on the subject of his proposed engagement to Princess Alice of Hohenloe, stating that he was already engaged to another.
