Letter from Prince Albert to Lord John Russell
25 Jan 1851Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (5 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/C/19/50
Letter from Prince Albert to Lord John Russell reporting that the Queen would approve of Sir Henry Wynn's removal from Cophenhagen and reminds him of Mr Murray's claim to the role, over Lord Napier, as a replacement. He also comments that he believes Emperor Napolean's marriage to be a 'strange step', showing that he cannot be controlled by those around him and therefore it makes little difference as to who is Foreign Minister out of Drouyn de Lhuys or Count Walewski.
