Letter from Prince Albert to Lord John Russell reporting that he approved of the dedication of Mr Bourne's work on the 'Serene Propeller'. He also mentions that Protection [Protectionism] will be be buried and that they should be grateful for the prospect of the commercial policy of the country settled on 'fixed principles', however the question of religious differences is still 'looming in the distance'. Prince Albert reports that the Surplus Committee [of the Great Exhibition of 1851] have drawn up an enclosed report (not present) and mentions the difficulties associated with land purchase.
