Draft letter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell

1 Mar 1854

Loose manuscript paper | 1 document (2 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/F/11/79

Draft letter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell acknowledging his letter regarding postponement of the Reform Bill. Although the Queen regrets the decision she believes it is the right course of action in the current circumstances but does suggest that a date not be set so that they may first ascertain public feeling. Queen Victoria reiterates the importance of a united cabinet. Written in Prince Albert's hand.
