Draft letter from Prince Albert to Lord Ashley stating that Lord John Russell was against the idea of Prince Albert presiding over a meeting at Exeter Hall due to the risk it may pose to his safety. The Prince writes that he can see the reasons for Lord John Russell's misgivings but is disappointed to miss out on the opportunity to express the Queen's interest in the 'welfare and comfort of the working class'.
