Memorandum by Prince Albert on a conversation with the Duke of Newcastle regarding Lord John Russell's attempt to strengthen his government after the expulsion of Lord Palmerston. The Prince writes that he gathers the Peelites believe the present government will soon fall and are considering where best to provide their support. He also reports that the Duke of Newcastle was not for the extension and lists some of the Duke's concerns.
