Letter from Viscount Palmerston to Queen Victoria reporting that he moved for the House of Commons to give their thanks to the army and navy, engaged in operations in China. He also reports on speeches made against the 'Emperor's Summer Palace' and provides an update on the Bankruptcy Bill, and on the bill regarding the forfeited seats from the disfranchised boroughs of St. Albans and Sudbury.
