The Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar answers Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar's letter regarding whether he would consent to his marriage to the Duke of Richmond's daughter and what her title would be. The Grand Duke refers to the 'Principles of the German Law of Princes' and the 'Statutes of our House' stating that no rank would be given to her [Lady Augusta Lennox] and any children. Furthermore, he would lose his own right of succession. He asks Prince Edward to consider his situation, including in relation to his military career, before taking this step. Written in German.
