The Duke of Wellington refers to the General Order for the repression of duelling. He writes that he put the papers into the hands of Sir Robert Peel who returned them with reports including from Sir George Murray (Master General of the Ordnance) and the professional Lords of the Admiralty expressing their opposition to the modification of the system.
