27 Nov 1847Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (8 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/C/55/15
The Bishop of Oxford writes that opinions on Dr Hampden were put down in convocation. He discusses his own thoughts on the appointment and those of other Bishops including the Bishops of Manchester and St Asaph. He argues that the appointment will leave 'suspicious distrust of Lord John's government'.
