Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar states that he has asked Queen Victoria what rank and position Lady Augusta would hold in England if they were to marry. Queen Victoria replied that she would act on the advice of her government and would require the specific case in order to obtain the opinion of her ministers. Prince Edward writes that he has written to Weimar for an official answer on what would be Lady Augusta's rank and position in Germany. Copy.
