PRINCE ALBERT, PRINCE CONSORT (1819-61)

Letter from Prince Albert to Lord John Russell

8 Jan 1849

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (3 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/C/17/1

Prince Albert corrects his mistake that the authoress of the letters on the French Revolution and candidate for a pension was Mrs Austin, not Miss Martineau. He writes that Mrs Austin was the translator of 'Ranke's History of the Popes'.
