13 Jan 1852Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (3 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/C/19/36
Letter from Prince Albert to Lord John Russell agreeing that the extension of suffrage, which had been promised by the Government, should be introduced, however they are fortunate as no specific measure had been promised and that there existed no pressure from the public for change. Prince Albert states that Russell is free to create such a measure that will meet with the greatest amount of support, and in which the Crown has an interest.
