Prince Albert states that today the strength of the Chartists will be put to the test. He writes that the numbers of unemployed workmen has increased due to the reduction of works at Westminster Palace, Buckingham Palace and the suspension of the formation of Battersea Park. Prince Albert expresses his desire for the government to help the working classes but without following Louis Blanc's system.
