GEORGE HAMILTON-GORDON, 4TH EARL OF ABERDEEN (1784-1860)
Letter from Lord Aberdeen to Lord John Russell
24 Mar 1854Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (3 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/F/11/92
Letter from Lord Aberdeen to Lord John Russell in response to his previous letter on postponement. He states that he feels that none of the courses suggested by Lord John Russell will be successful, as he doubts that there will be enthusiasm for reform after the war has ended. He again reiterates his own belief that it would be best to have the second reading at the end of March and writes that he will no longer discuss the matter.
