Dr Philpott discusses the office of Yeoman Bedell, currently held by a John Crouch. He discusses his salary and fees relating to the licensing of Ale Houses and the two annual fairs in town. Dr Philpott writes that he is making a proposition to the Senate for him to be allowed a stipend. Includes note dated 5 December 1856.
