Colonel Douglas on the lace for the Cavalry officers's caps and the position as to the Scots Greys. He writes that General Grey will receive plumes for the Fusiliers and Light Infantry today, and that the frock coat and braid for the Cavalry will follow. He mentions the query regarding the headgear of the 71st and 74th Highlanders including reference to cap lines and tartan bands. Includes note of reply, dated [?3] December 1856.
