Photograph of a full length group portrait consisting of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII (1841-1910), the princes' tutor Mr Frederick Gibbs (d.1898) and Prince Alfred, later Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The Prince of Wales, on the far left, stands facing three-quarters to the right and leaning on Gibbs, placing his left arm on his tutor's shoulder. He gazes to the left, away from the camera, and holds a cane in his right hand. Gibbs is seated and places his left arm around Prince Alfred. Prince Alfred, on the far right, stands, his right leg crossed over his left. He gazes down.
