Photograph of a painting of Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) who stands facing three-quarters to the right with his left hand outstretched towards the Captain of the San Josef who stands with his back to the viewer. A bargeman stands alongside Nelson with the swords of the vanquished Spanish under his arm. Various other British and Spanish Officers and wounded members of crew are also represented on board the San Josef, captured by Nelson during the battle of Cape Vincent.
