Photograph of a view of Manresa in Spain. The bridge Pont Vell is positioned in the middle ground, running horizontally across the photograph,. In the foreground, two men stand conversing on a path by the banks of the river. On a hill in the background stands La Seu de Manresa, with its single tower.

The Pont Vell or 'Old Bridge' was constructed during the 12th century and is distinctively pointed at its apex in the centre. The bridge suffered damage to its central section during the Spanish Civil War but was re-built during the early 1960's. The gothic church of La Seu de Manresa began construction in 1325 and the design for which was overseen by Antoni Gaudi.
