Photograph of a painting by Paul Delaroche, created in 1837. This half-length portrait of Napoléon I (1769-1821) depicts the young emperor in uniform, standing at his study and facing to the left. His right hand is tucked inside his waistcoat, whilst his left hand is placed behind his back.
