Photograph of a painting by Paul Delaroche, completed in 1837 and now in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum (Inv. no. 553-1903). The full-length portrait of St Cecilia (c.200-230 AD) depicts the saint in profile, sitting in a throne on the right and gazing upwards. She wears a floor length robe and a cross necklace. She extends her right hand above a portable organ held by two female angels who kneel before her.
