Illustrated catalogue bound in brown leather with gilt decoration. The catalogue documents the Soulages Collection, a collection of decorative arts formerly in the collection of French collector Jules Soulage (1803-57). The catalogue contains a selection of albumen prints.
This is the first application of photography to the illustration of art catalogues. The Soulages Collection was later acquired for the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
