1857-58Albumen print? | RCIN 2160776
Photograph of a painting by Paul Delaroche, created in 1838 and now in the collection of the Petit Palais, Paris (Inv. no. PPP4983). This full-length portrait depicts the artist's son, Horace Delaroche (1836-79), as a young child. He leans against a stool upholstered in velvet and looks at the viewer. A Cavalier King Charles Spaniel sits on its back legs in front of the stool. Lavish drapery surrounds the child.
