Photograph of an rounded, enamelled plaque of Henri II of France (1519–1559) from the collection of the Louvre, Paris (N 1247). Created in Limoges during the sixteen century, the equestrian portrait depicts the bearded French king in profile facing to the left. He appears riding his horse in court dress and holds a foliate sceptre in his left hand.
