Photograph of a Limoges enamel plaque of François II, Duke of Guise (1519-63) from the collection of the Louvre, Paris (N 1255). Created in 1557 by Léonard Limosin (c.1506-1577), the bust-length portrait depicts the bearded French courtier facing slightly to the left and gazing at the viewer. He wears a fur-lined cape over a doublet and a plumed cap on his head. A pendant of the Order of St Michel hangs from his neck.
