Photograph of a Limoges enamel plaque of king François II (1544-1560) at the age of nine from the collection of the Louvre, Paris (N 1253). Created around 1553 and attributed to Léonard Limosin (c.1506-1577), the half-length portrait shows the French crown prince facing a quarter to the left and gazing ahead. He wears an embroidered doublet and a cap decorated with pearls and a feather. A fur-lined cloak covers his right shoulder. His jewellery pieces include a pendant of the Order of St Michel and a pearl earing.
