Photograph of a Limoges enamel plaque of St Thomas from the collection of the Louvre, Paris (MR XIII suppl. 211). Created around 1550 and attributed to Léonard Limosin (c.1506-1577), the full-length portrait depicts the saint standing and facing to the left, his torso turned to the viewer. A cloak is wrapped around his body as he holds a carpenter's square in his left hand. The work is framed by an enamelled decorative frieze, including the royal cypher of king Henri II of France (1519-1559).
