Photograph depicting the inside of an enamelled lid from a sixteen-century footed dish or tazza. Attributed to Léonard Limosin (c.1505-77), the object forms part of the collection of the Louvre, Paris (MR 2453). The decoration consists of four oval medallions in each of which appears a classical portrait in profile. An equal number of playing putti fill the spaces between the medallions.
