'Cover in Enamel  by Jean Courtois' 

Photograph of a painted enamel ewer created in the second half of the sixteenth century and now in the collection of the Louvre, Paris (MR 2418). The vessel consists of an ovoid body raised on a footed base, a flared lip and a high-looped handle. The body is divided into two continuous narrative zones by a decorative band. The lower, larger frieze depicts a battle with nude male figures on horseback, while the upper part is dominated by pieces of arms and armour.
