Glass plate negative featuring two almost identical views of the Prince Consort's Writing or Sitting Room at Buckingham Palace. There are five paintings and two sets of miniatures on the walls. The space is filled with a variety of furniture - a writing table in centre with a ink stand and other writing equipment, and two sofas in chintz. Cabinets are visible against the walls. To the right is a fireplace with a rectangular mirror over the mantel.
The glass plate negative has been photographed showing the coated side and therefore the image appears laterally reversed. A print from this negative exists in the Collection, RCIN 2103824.
