Princess Louise writes that Queen Victoria took them to Alverbank and Prince Alfred showed them some boxing gloves. They also recently cooked in their kitchen and made wafers and schneemilch. Princess Helena went out driving with 'Grandmama' and Ernest went away. She also mentions that Sir William Peel has died of smallpox.
