An account of the experience of William Richards during the attempt on Queen Victoria's life. He gives his profession as a journeyman shoemaker in Newcastle Street, Strand, whose master is George Ashby Squires. He describes being on Constitution Hill last Monday waiting for Queen Victoria to return when he heard a man stood near the pump shout 'Why should we work to support her'. He later saw the man raise his hand and fire.
