Deposition of William Jones

3 Jul 1842

Loose manuscript paper; mounted | 1 document (3 pages) (whole object) | RA VIC/MAIN/M/67/49

An account taken of the experience of William Jones, a wood turner of Hall Street, Finsbury during the attempt on Queen Victoria's life. He states that he was in the park when the carriages went by. He saw a 'humpbacked' boy who 'appeared silly' but did not resist the pistol being taken from him by the other boy currently in custody. Copy.
