Photograph of a full length portrait of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII (1841-1910) and Princess Louise, later the Duchess of Argyll (1848-1939) seated around a make-believe fire. The Prince of Wales is seated with his right leg extended in front of him. He wears a hat, cloak and beard with the appearance of snow on his clothes. On the left sits Princess Louise, with her hands outstretched as if to warm them by the fire. The fire consists of a cauldron, strung up on a tripod. In the foreground lie kindling, a log and an axe.

The Prince of Wales and Princess Louise are dressed as Winter for a performance of 'Tableaux of the Seasons'.
