Photograph of Ethel Cadogan in a full-length portrait, shown in costume wearing a striped dress, scarves, including a scarf wrapped around her head. Her right leg is raised and rests on a hay bale and she supports her head with her right arm which rests on her knee. Her left arm is held across her body. A wicker basket containing twigs is visible to the sitter's left. 

Ethel Cadogan was the daughter of Frederick William Cadogan and Lady Adelaide Paget. She served in various positions in the Royal Household. This photograph may have been taken during Queen Victoria's visit to Baveno, Italy from 28 March to 23 April 1879.
