Photograph of the main porch to Charlton house with the central arched entrance flanked by double pillars. At the base of the pillars are lion's faces. A small recess exists above the central arch. Sitting outside the porch is Sir Thomas Maryon Wilson (1800-69) holding an open book on his lap with his head in left side profile to the viewer. Next to him is a second chair with two closed books on it.
