Photograph of a full length double portrait of Princess Helena, later Princess Christian of Schleswig Holstein (1846-1923) and Princess Louise, later the Duchess of Argyll (1848-1939) standing, facing the camera. Princess Helena stands on the left and is dressed in 18th-century gentleman's costume and wig. On the right stands Princess Louise, wearing a bonnet and dress and carrying a basket of flowers in her right hand. The princesses are dressed for a performance of  'Les deux petits Savoyards' at Windsor. Princess Helena played Clermont and Princess Louise played Louison.
