Queen Victoria supports the infant Prince Arthur, wrapped in drapery, who presents the Duke of Wellington with a bunch of lily of the valley; the Duke offers the Prince a jewelled casket. Behind stands Prince Albert, looking back to a landscape with the Crystal Palace in the distance.
