Photograph of a group of nine soldiers from the Grenadier Guards who were wounded during the Crimean War. Five are standing and four are seated. All are wearing military uniform including winter coats. Part of Wellington Barracks can be seen behind. Caption below the image: Men of the Grenadier Guards wounded in the Crimea in the Alma & Inkermann. / March 1855. By Mr Bambridge. 

This photograph is one of the first portraits of wounded Crimean War veterans commissioned by Queen Victoria, and pre-dates Roger Fenton's arrival in the Crimea.
