Photograph of the village of Holsteinborg, now known as Sisimiut, in Greenland. The print shows Bethel Old Church, built in 1775, in Holsteinsborg on the left with the Governor's House alongside. On the right of the picture stands a flag pole with the Danish flag flying.
The Danish Navy established Holsteinborg, now known as Sisimiut, as a trading post following the defeat of the Dutch in the early 18th Century. In 1926, a second church was built alongside the old church in the town.
