Photograph of the principal door of the Basilica Santa Engracia de Zaragoza, built in 1540. The doorway is framed by an Archivolt decorated with Cherubs heads. This is flanked by figures in niches. Above the door is a frieze depicting King Fernando V of Aragon (1452-1516) kneeling in right side profile and opposite, his wife Isabella I of Castille (1451-1504), also kneeling but in left side profile. In the centre, is a relief of the Virgin with the infant Jesus. Above this is a relief of Christ on the cross. In front of the door stand three tree stumps and bundles of branches in a row. An empty sentry box stands on the left in the foreground.
