Photograph of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo's (1617-82) painting showing the Immaculate Conception. The Virgin Mary stands with her hands clutched to her breast as she looks upwards towards the figure of God who appears above her head. Cherubs surround her on either side and a silver crescent appears by her feet.
