Photograph of Abergeldie Castle in the background with a driveway leading to the castle. In the foreground stands a solitary tree and to its left, a single standing stone.

In October 1863, the Crown Prince of Prussia, Frederick William, Princess Victoria and their children stayed at Abergeldie Castle when they visited Balmoral. It was during this visit that Wilson photographed the Crown Prince and his son, Prince William within the grounds of Balmoral.
