Photograph of a half-length portrait of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (1720-88) as a child. The sitter is facing to the left, turning his head to look at the viewer. He wears a dark wig and a brocade coat over a blouse with laced collar and cuffs. The end of a sash is tied over his right hip. He holds a tricorne in his right hand, while his left hand points upwards, to the right.
At the time of the photograph, the painting was in the collection of Earl of Fife, Duff-House, Banddshire. According to the album's table of contents, the work was created by Pierre Mignard (612-95). Please note that the sitter has been identified as James Francis Edward Stuart in another reproduction (RCIN 603492).
